Open Polytechnic has been offering qualifications to the home-based sector since 1994. The Open Polytechnic level 4 Certificate in Early Childhood Practice was developed in consultation with the home-based sector and opened in 2011. The Certificate remains a popular programme of study for home-based educators. In 2015 over 100 educators completed the 1st course and 78 educators completed the 2nd course and were awarded the Certificate.
The Head of School will present the new NZQA Qualifications and the changes to existing pathways and qualifications.
They will also present the New Zealand Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 5)
