I have been in the Early Childhood sector for the last 17 years and the Homebased sector for the last 10 years. I am a fully qualified and registered ECE teacher who obtained my Bachelor of Teaching ECE at The University of Auckland. I have taken early education vacancies of all sorts, from working on the floor in a centre, to managing one, to tutoring the level 3 in ECE, being a Visiting Teacher, to contracting for policy writing and now own my own Homebased service.
I believe homebased education is an excellent option in care and education. It takes a village to raise tamariki and with Homebased we have and can offer that. Not only do tamariki get the village, they also get the home environment that encourages stress free learning at their pace!
The Association's representation the Homebased sector and has done so for many years. The Association has been the voice of the sector and this has ensured that we are all heard! We continue to strive for this and continue to advocate for the sector as much as we possible.
